The University School Preppers will face off against the Copley Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as University School comes in on six and Copley on three.
On Wednesday, University School got the win against Elyria Catholic by a conclusive 7-1. The Preppers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Slater Schoaf tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tucker Greer, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
University School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Copley hadn't done well against Tallmadge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Indians blew past the Blue Devils 17-1. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.
AZ Patterson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Patterson was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jake Stitsinger was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Brody Petry, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
University School's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Copley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
