7A District 1 recap November 13, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Drew Frederic and Devyn Wooley connected against Bolles. The connection went for 90 yards, the longest such play in 7A District 1 this season.
Tate added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Escambia, 45-34. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Frederic threw for 358 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 14-26 with 1 interception.
Brian Davis was the best running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 71 yards as Tate beat the Gators. Teammate Samuel added to the ground attack by rushing for 24 yards.
Niceville's Ashton Hooker and Tyre McCants led 7A District 1 in both passing and receiving yards. Hooker has thrown for 1,303 yards this season, while McCants has 38 catches for 515 yards. Samuel from Ronnie Douglas' team leads the league in rushing with 969 yards.
Samuel of the the Aggies is just 31 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 185 carries Samuel has put up 969 yards this year.
Tate led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Escambia. Sawyer Smith threw for 265 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
