Chireno dropped down to 5-5 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 9-2 to the Woden Eagles. The Owls were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Eagles' pitchers proved too tough.
K LASKOSKIE made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. I LINGE also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
As for Woden, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.
On Woden's side, Riley Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Taylor has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
