Carson has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will take on the Lake Norman Charter Knights at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Carson suffered a tough 45-24 defeat at the hands of Central Cabarrus. While losing is never fun, Carson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while Central Cabarrus is ranked 156th).
Despite the loss, Carson saw an underclassman step up: Rylee Hedrick scored 13 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Concord an easy 62-38 victory.
Despite the defeat, Lake Norman Charter had strong showings from Joanna Aruljeeva, who scored four points along with five rebounds, and Kate Champion, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Champion pulled down eight or more rebounds.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Carson have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 24.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Lake Norman Charter, though, as they've been averaging only 30.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Carson was taken down by Lake Norman Charter 63-26 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Carson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
