The Apache Junction Prospectors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Cortez, falling 62-20. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Apache Junction in their matchups with Cortez: they've now lost eight in a row.
Ulysses Espinoza was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with four steals for Cortez. Another player making a difference was Kaden Ramirez, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Apache Junction bumped their record down to 6-14 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Cortez, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.
Apache Junction will look to defend their home court on Friday against Tempe at 7:00 p.m. Tempe is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Cortez, they will head out on the road to take on Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coronado will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
