West Franklin suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Saturday. They suffered a rough 53-31 defeat at the hands of Council Grove. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss West Franklin has suffered against Council Grove since December 11, 2018.
Mission Valley was handed a 28-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Chase County on Saturday. Mission Valley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over Chase County. The win was just what Mission Valley needed coming off of a 63-35 loss in their prior matchup.
Mission Valley found their leader in underclassman Taylor Brammell, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Brammell scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyplee Jacobson, who scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and three blocks.
West Franklin has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-1 record this season. As for Mission Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
West Franklin was taken down by Mission Valley 65-33 in their previous matchup on Thursday. Can West Franklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
