The Yuma Criminals will head out on the road to take on the Greenway Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Yuma knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Greenway likes a good challenge.
Yuma pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Moon Valley. The loss put an end to Yuma's undefeated start to the season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Nick Amador, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Mosqueda, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Greenway, who are still winless after their 15th matchup. They fell just short of Shadow Mountain by a score of 30-27. Greenway has not had much luck with Shadow Mountain recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Yuma's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Greenway, they bumped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Yuma came up short against Greenway in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 53-47. Can Yuma avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
