For the first time this season, Talihina will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to take on the Allen Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Talihina's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Talihina's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They breezed past Non Varsity Opponent to the tune of 46-0. Fans of the Golden Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Landen Griffith was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 158 yards and three scores on only 15 carries, and also threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per attempt. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making two total tackles in addition to snagging two interceptions. Noah Lloyd was another key player, picking up 210 receiving yards and three TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Talihina was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 182 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Talihina didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Griffith. Griffith is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Allen had to suffer through a 48-16 loss at the hands of Wynnewood. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Savages recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Talihina will have to contain Quinton Box as he made an impact in Allen's last game. He threw for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes, and also rushed for 98 yards on only 11 carries.
Talihina's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Allen, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Talihina has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 297.7 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Allen, though, as they've been averaging only 91 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
Talihina strolled past Allen when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a score of 27-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
