After both having extra time off, the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs and the Hurricane Tigers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, Crimson Cliffs didn't have quite enough to beat Dixie and fell 3-2. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Crimson Cliffs couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Dixie a tough time in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 29-31, 25-21, 21-25, 26-24, 15-11.

Crimson Cliffs might have lost, but man, Lily Jones was a machine: she had 29 digs and two aces. Jones has been hot, having posted 16 or more digs the last seven times she's played.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hurricane challenged Pine View on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won eight in a row.
The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 25-17.
Hurricane picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 14-12. As for Crimson Cliffs, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Crimson Cliffs has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Hurricane struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Crimson Cliffs was able to grind out a solid win over Hurricane in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
