Edinburgh had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-5 to make it nine. They lost 19-1 to the Indy Genesis HomeSchool Indy Genesis. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by exactly 18 runs.
Edinburgh got a good showing from Connor Scott, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Edinburgh saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Myers, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. That hit was Myers' first of the season.
As for Indy Genesis HomeSchool, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. The result was nothing new for the Indy Genesis, who have now won five games by nine runs or more so far this season.
On Indy Genesis HomeSchool's side, Isaiah Giegerich made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Giegerich was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Keyton Smith and Parker Althoff did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base, while Althoff went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Althoff has posted since back in April of 2024. Brandon Harlow was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Edinburgh didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-5 defeat against South Decatur on the 17th. As for Indy Genesis HomeSchool, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-1 victory against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical on the 22nd.
