Community Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were dealt a 55-26 loss at the hands of the Good Samaritan HomeSchool Hornets. One positive for the Lions, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kadyn Miller, who posted eight points. Miller continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Lacey Cupp was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.
Good Samaritan HomeSchool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hannah Begnaud led the charge by going 8 of 16 on her way to 17 points and three steals. Begnaud is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey White, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 17 points and eight rebounds.
Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Good Samaritan HomeSchool, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
After both having extra time off, Community Christian and Spring Baptist Academy will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
