Memorial is 8-2 against Edison since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Memorial Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Edison Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Memorial comes in on three and Edison on seven.
On Friday, Memorial didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Durant, but they still walked away with a 59-54 win. Given Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Durant is ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Memorial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Garrett out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garrett has scored all season. Fabian Harris was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Edison can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They blew past Coweta 62-41. That's two games straight that Edison has won by exactly 21 points.
Memorial's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Edison, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Memorial suffered a grim 51-29 defeat to Edison in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Memorial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
