Dawson Springs lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Montgomery Johnston, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Johnston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rex Blue, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Madisonville-North Hopkins' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Dawson Springs, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madisonville-North Hopkins will take on the Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. University Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully the Maroons likes a good challenge. Dawson Springs' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
