Softball Recap: Lonoke Has No Trouble Against Wynne

Lonoke won against Wynne last Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Jackrabbits were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Yellowjackets. Considering the Jackrabbits have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kendra Terry made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Terry was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Ava Brown was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kirsten Holt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lonoke kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matches.

Lonoke's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wynne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Lonoke will be playing at home against Heber Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wynne, they will head out on the road to take on Marion at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
