The Clifton Mustangs and the Seton Hall Prep Pirates will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Clifton is ranked 214th, while Seton Hall Prep is ranked 210th).
Last Saturday, Clifton came up short against Watchung Hills Regional and fell 44-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clifton has scored all season.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 17-17 at halftime, Seton Hall Prep was not quite Dwight-Englewood's equal in the second half on Wednesday. Seton Hall Prep fell just short of Dwight-Englewood by a score of 42-39. Seton Hall Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Gino Romano, who scored 11 points along with five assists and four steals. He scored a full 28.2% of Seton Hall Prep's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Alex Ante, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Clifton's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Seton Hall Prep, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-5 record last season and are now at 1-4.
