Darrell Carbajal was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Santa Fe's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-9 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Matthew Armijo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Logan Gallegos, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Roswell never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against Lovington as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The Coyotes not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14th.
The team relied heavily on Adrian Lucero, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Savino Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Roswell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Roswell, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.
