Providence Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. Their rough 62-39 loss to Wakefield Country Day might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Providence Christian Academy of the 36-22 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Alfredo Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds for Wakefield Country Day. That makes it six consecutive games in which Martinez has scored at least a third of Wakefield Country Day's points. Will Wofford was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Wakefield Country Day's win bumped their record up to 2-7.
Providence Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wakefield Country Day, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chelsea Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Wakefield Country Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
