Basketball Game Preview: First Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders vs. First Coast Christian Knights

The First Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders will challenge the First Coast Christian Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. First Baptist Christian Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

First Baptist Christian Academy is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Washington Classical Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that First Baptist Christian Academy blew Washington Classical Christian out of the water with a 70-33 final score. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 27 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead First Baptist Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julia (Jay) Rose, who went 8 of 11 en route to 18 points along with six assists and six boards. Rose's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paiden Hickman, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards.

First Baptist Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 59 points the game before, First Coast Christian was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were beaten by Eagle's View 59-20. The Knights have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

First Baptist Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.8 points. As for First Coast Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

First Baptist Christian Academy strolled past First Coast Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 47-28.
