On Friday, the Elk Grove Thundering Herd's's game was all tied up 31-31 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against San Rafael by a score of 62-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Elk Grove.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elk Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vinny Gonzales, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Acido, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Elk Grove has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for San Rafael, they bumped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Elk Grove will take on Sheldon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. San Rafael and Dublin will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Dublin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 contests.
