The Cleveland Hill Golden Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Griffith Institute by a score of 47-45. Cleveland Hill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Griffith Institute apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron D'Hilly, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. D'Hilly scored a full 33.3% of Cleveland Hill's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Meredith, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Even though they lost, Cleveland Hill were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cleveland Hill now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Griffith Institute, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Cleveland Hill will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Tonawanda at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Griffith Institute will be home for the holidays to greet Eden at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eden has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 349 points over their last five matches.
