After a string of four wins, the Yerington Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a hard 51-34 fall against Incline. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Yerington has scored all season.
Yerington's loss came despite strong showings from Noah Thom and Kp Picotte jr. Thom scored 17 points, while Picotte jr scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals. The game was Thom's 15th in a row with at least ten points.
Yerington struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Tommy Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Incline, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of Incline's points. John Mcandrews was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Yerington's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Incline, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yerington will face off against Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coral Academy of Science - Reno comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Incline, they will head out on the road to face off against North Tahoe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully North Tahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
