The Brookfield Warriors pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Crestview. Brookfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Crestview apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Brookfield still got an impressive performance from Matteo Fortuna, who scored 31 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. The contest was Fortuna's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Brandon Hardman was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Even though they lost, Brookfield were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Brookfield has fallen quite a ways from their 18-6 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Crestview, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield's road trip will continue as they head out to face Champion at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Champion focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Crestview, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
