The Dakota Cougars entered their tilt with the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Dakota came out on top against Grosse Pointe North by a score of 53-43 on Monday. This was a revenge match for Dakota, as the team was forced to settle for a 50-41 defeat when these two played two weeks ago.
Dakota's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tambre Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Williams is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Brooks-Foster, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
Dakota has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Grosse Pointe North, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dakota will take on L'Anse Creuse North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. L'Anse Creuse North has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9. As for Grosse Pointe North, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Utica Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. Utica Eisenhower will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Grosse Pointe North is ranked 35th).
