Cypress fell to Edison 35-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Centurions made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,535 from 5,870. The advance stemmed from a 35-14 victory over Cypress last week.
Valencia's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tyler Switzer threw for 128 and 1 touchdown and Jake Watkins had 125 yards receiving. On the ground Patrick Godoy chipped in 72 yards. Jackson Mirth helped Valencia's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 45 yards.
Godoy was a passing and rushing force as the Tigers fell to Fullerton. He completed 7 passes for 49 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 72 yards. Godoy's key target this week was Watkins, who caught 7 passes for 125 yards.
Godoy was the most successful running back in Empire this week. Teammate Tom Torres added to the ground attack by rushing for 47 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Jake Gigliotti of Yorba Linda is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,075. He has also thrown 8 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Watkins. The Valencia star has 55 catches for 710 yards.
Valencia led the league in points allowed with 29.
