If Mission Vista were feeling good off their 73-33 takedown of the Orange Glen Patriots on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mission Vista took a 77-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Escondido Charter. Mission Vista was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Escondido Charter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on December 5th.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Escondido Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alejandro Gonzalez, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Max Mowrey, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Mission Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Escondido Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.
Mission Vista and San Pasqual will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. San Pasqual has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2. Escondido Charter won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Orange Glen at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. Orange Glen is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
