RJ Kissick turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than three walks surrendered on Wednesday. He turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Laurel: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9 otherwise.

Kissick's strong effort led Laurel over Northgate and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans are a perfect 5-0 against the Flames going back to April of 2023, a lead they'll look to extend.
