Byron had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They claimed a resounding 63-0 victory over the Rock Falls Rockets. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Rockets are ranked 447th) , the win on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
