The Woodlands has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Woodlands walked away with it. They pulled ahead with a 28-27 photo finish over Klein Collins.
The Woodlands can attribute much of their success to Mabrey Mettauer, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Duncanville stacked a tenth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Rockwall-Heath on the road to the tune of 62-24. The win was nothing new for Duncanville as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Caden Durham, who rushed for 220 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries. Durham is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Keelon Russell, who threw for 308 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
The Woodlands' win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Duncanville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
The Woodlands was dealt a bruising 35-3 loss at the hands of Duncanville when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can The Woodlands avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
