They snuck past Mount Pisgah Academy with a 35-29 victory on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bethel Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Bethel Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lexi Mendez led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five steals. Mendez is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah James, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Bethel Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Mount Pisgah Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Mountain View Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in their respective states (the Mustangs are ranked 201st in South Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 534th in North Carolina). As for Mount Pisgah Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Kingfishers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
