Softball Recap: Orting Beats Eatonville for Their Third Straight Victory

Orting waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Eatonville Cruisers by a score of 15-10. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-11 back in April.

Kathryn Prest made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off 13 hits. Prest was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Orting got a massive performance out of Madalynn Halte, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Halte has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Arnett, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Orting was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Orting's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.5 runs over those games. As for Eatonville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orting will host Franklin Pierce at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orting's pitchers better be ready for this one: Franklin Pierce has averaged an impressive 12.6 runs per game this season. As for Eatonville, they will take on Foss at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cruisers are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
