Baseball Game Preview: Grand Saline Indians vs. Malakoff Tigers

For the second straight game, Grand Saline will face off against Malakoff. The Indians will challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Grand Saline came up short against Malakoff and fell 5-1.

For Malakoff's part, Jaxson Jedlicka tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Jedlicka has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Malakoff's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mike Jones, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Malakoff is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Grand Saline, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-9.
