The Burke Cougars lost against the Alcester-Hudson Cubs back in September, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Burke took a serious blow against Alcester-Hudson, falling 50-12. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Burke in their matchups with Alcester-Hudson: they've now lost four in a row.
Although Burke took the loss, they still got scores from Bryce Bartling and Kaleb Schonebaum.
Burke's loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.6 points per game. As for Alcester-Hudson, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Burke does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Alcester-Hudson will square off against Deubrook at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Deubrook is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
