Coconut Creek has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the McArthur Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Coconut Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
Coconut Creek scored the most points they've had all season to find success. Everything went their way against Pompano Beach as Coconut Creek made off with a 70-49 victory. Coconut Creek has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.
Abigail Theophile was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 29 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tessan Parchment, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
McArthur suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Doral Academy 66-28. While losing is never fun, McArthur can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Doral Academy is ranked 17th).
Coconut Creek now has a winning record of 7-6. As for McArthur, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-5 record this season.
Coconut Creek lost to McArthur on the road by a decisive 38-24 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Coconut Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
