Baseball Recap: Center Line Finds Home Field Redemption Against Clintondale

There's no place like home for Center Line, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Clintondale Dragons on Friday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 15 runs or more this season.

Cruz Santiago made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Center Line's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Dylan Fenger was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Center Line always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clintondale only posted an OBP of .333.

Center Line's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Clintondale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Center Line will host Sterling Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers are facing the Stallions at the right time seeing as the Stallions are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Clintondale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Haven at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
