Mason has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Oak Hills Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Mason's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
Mason has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Lakota West on Saturday as Mason made off with a 55-35 victory. Given Mason's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Lakota West is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madison Parrish was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points. Parrish also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Riley Yost was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Oak Hills scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 41-33 win over Hamilton.
Mason pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.23 points. As for Oak Hills, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Everything came up roses for Mason against Oak Hills when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 53-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mason since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
