The Tustin Tillers will head out to challenge the Westminster Lions at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Tustin took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Costa Mesa.
Emery Diaz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Samantha Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Bella Fernandez also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Westminster had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Saints 10-4. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Jocelyn Aguilar and Chelsea Brown were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Aguilar tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Brown tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. At bat, Aguilar scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Brown scored a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Alyna Guerrero was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Perry, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Westminster was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive games.
Tustin's record now sits at 4-2. As for Westminster, their record is now 6-8.
