The Platte Valley Broncos will be playing at home against the Liberty Common Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Platte Valley struggled with assists on Saturday (the Lions had 18 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Platte Valley was dealt a 68-29 defeat at the hands of the Lions. Platte Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-18.
Despite the loss, Platte Valley saw an underclassman step up: Kennedi Nelson scored eight points. Nelson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Liberty Common ended up a good deal behind the Bison on Saturday and lost 40-21. While losing is never fun, Liberty Common can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Bison are ranked 31st).
Platte Valley dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Liberty Common, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Platte Valley strolled past the Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 53-38. Will Platte Valley repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
