Flatirons Academy had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 30-7 to the Highland Huskies. John Bingley was nothing short of spectacular for Highland: he rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns. 88 of those passing yards were hauled in by Shane Sverak Jr., who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Flatirons Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Limon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Highland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Platte Canyon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
