With a playoff game on the line, the Brooks Lions rose to the challenge on Friday. They strolled past Oneonta with points to spare, taking the game 56-42. The win was just what Brooks needed coming off of a 33-3 defeat in their prior contest.
Garrett Burrough had a dynamite game for Brooks, rushing for 195 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 174 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes. Omar Joyner was another key contributor, gaining 141 total yards and two touchdowns.
Brooks is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Oneonta, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.
Brooks will take on Priceville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oneonta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
