Softball Recap: Shadow Ridge Has No Trouble Against Westwood

While Shadow Ridge put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Westwood. The Stallions blew past the Warriors 10-0. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Shadow Ridge got a great performance from Avery Mackey as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Mackey has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Taylor Agaman and Laci Hughes did most of the damage at the plate: Agaman scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Hughes scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Hughes has posted since back in February. Jordyn Scott was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Shadow Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westwood only posted an OBP of .062.

Shadow Ridge's record is now 9-7-1. As for Westwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9-1.

Shadow Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Red Mountain on the 8th. As for Westwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 21-16 loss against Mesa on the 7th.
