El Camino hasn't had much luck against Casa Roble recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The El Camino Eagles will welcome the Casa Roble Rams at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
El Camino gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Woodland with a sharp 11-5 victory. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Oaklee Schwartz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, Za'Niyah Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dani Leon, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Smith wasn't the only one working in the hit department: El Camino kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Casa Roble made easy work of Rio Linda on Tuesday and carried off a 12-1 victory.
Alyssa Godwin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Godwin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zaria Gee, who went 2-for-3 with two triples and three runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in triples. Another player making a difference was Gianna Giannini, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Casa Roble's win bumped their record up to 3-4-1. As for El Camino, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.
