The Jackson Academy Eagles had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down Crenshaw Christian Academy 46-28 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jackson Academy also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Huntley Dees was a one-man wrecking crew for Jackson Academy as he threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Hillman, who picked up 126 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brayden Moore, who threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Drake Mills, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown.
Jackson Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Crenshaw Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
Jackson Academy will square off against Lowndes Academy at TBD on Thursday. Lowndes Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Crenshaw Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
