Newman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Able, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Caroline Kenter was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Episcopal lost 14-4 to Slaughter Community Charter on Thursday. Episcopal hasn't had much luck with Slaughter Community Charter recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Newman, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
