YUCCA VALLEY, Calif. - Special teams carried
Joshua Springs (Yucca Valley, Calif.) to a 64-20 victory over Calvary Baptist (La Verne, Calif.) on Saturday as the return units contributed two touchdowns. The Lightning's special teams scored on two kick returns.
Joshua Springs was up 44-13 at the half after taking the lead on a safety in the first quarter.
JS expanded its lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. The Yucca Valley school scored two times in the third, including once on a
Joey Hagerman touchdown pass to
Isaiah Bates.
The Cougars' Solomon Frisco played well. The senior ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 21 on the year.
Joseph Leichtner played well for the Lightning in the victory. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.
