Softball Recap: Burroughs Comes Up Short

After flying high against Academy of Careers & Exploration last Monday, Burroughs came back down to earth. Burroughs fell just short of the Silverado Hawks by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. The Burros' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Reyna Bojorquez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Soriah Chancey, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Bojorquez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Burroughs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silverado only managed seven hits.

Burroughs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Silverado, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Coming up, Burroughs will be playing at home against Paraclete at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Silverado, they will square off against Adelanto at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Adelanto has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.7 runs per game on average), something Silverado will no doubt try to take advantage of.
