The Ada-Borup Cougars put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal with points to spare, taking the game 72-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ada-Borup was led to victory by Austin McCraven and Cameron Spaeth. McCraven dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Spaeth scored 20 points. The contest was Spaeth's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Larson, who scored 11 points.
Ada-Borup's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.6 points per game. As for Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Ada-Borup will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hillsboro/Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal will be home for the holidays to greet Henning at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Henning's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
