There's no place like home for the Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down Hebbronville 38-21 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Santa Gertrudis Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Santa Gertrudis Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ariana Lozano out in front who scored 11 points. Arabella Deleon was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Santa Gertrudis Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-15. As for Hebbronville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Gertrudis Academy will challenge San Diego at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hebbronville, they will head out on the road to challenge Banquete at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
