The Riverton Silverwolves will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Syracuse Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 370 points over their last six matches.
Last Wednesday, Riverton faced Highland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Riverton strolled past Highland with points to spare, taking the game 66-50. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but Riverton was the better team in the second half.
Riverton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben Barrus out in front who scored 17 points. The matchup was Barrus' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Allred, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Syracuse pushed their score all the way to 59 last Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 72-59 to American Fork. While losing is never fun, Syracuse can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while American Fork is ranked fourth).
Riverton's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Syracuse, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
