Basketball Recap: Tyler Garner Key Part of a Team Effort in Lobos Win

Hayden won the last time they faced Duncan and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hayden Lobos put the hurt on the Duncan Wildkats with a sharp 69-48 victory. With that win, the Lobos brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.

Hayden's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Garner, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Garner's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Gaither, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Hayden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Hayden's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Duncan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Hayden has already played their next matchup, a 64-26 victory against Superior on the 17th. As for Duncan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-20 win against San Manuel on the 21st.
