Everything went their way against Blue Ridge Christian as Shawnee Mission Christian made off with a 39-13 win. That looming 39-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Shawnee Mission Christian yet this season.
Shawnee Mission Christian was led to victory by Emily Kleczka and Jeydan Umberger. Kleczka scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Umberger dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Umberger is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Anderson, who scored two points along with three steals.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reagen Peek, who scored four points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Risa Johnson, who scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Shawnee Mission Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Blue Ridge Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Shawnee Mission Christian will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blue Ridge Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cornerstone Family is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
